FIGHTEX Born into the world of Racing.

Same quality (Hand Made), whether it's for street, GT, or Formula.
- Hand Made to order:  A single suspension engineer is in charge of assembling each FIGHTEX damper kit from start to finish, using a consistent process.  Finally, all dampers are tested on TODA's damper dynamometer to ensure proper performance and functionality.  All design and manufacturing is done is in house in Japan for highest level of quality.
- Ride height can be adjustment without compromising spring pre-loading or damper stroke length. (Type DA, DA-G, EX, EX-G)
- All Type ST, EX and EX-G also incorporate a 18 way adjustable system but with separate bump and rebound adjusting.
- Our standard damper design uses a 40 diam. piston giving excellent overall balance of performance to size, a larger capacity 46 diam. is also used. (New products are continually introduced)
- Full kit's come with pillow-ball upper mounts and remote / independent upper spring seat. (Found on both F&R dampers)
- Complete kit's use high strength pillow-balls (NMB) for the upper mount.
- Spring rates can be changed when ordering. (Where applicable)
- ID60 (internal diameter 60mm) springs.
- Individual set up requirements can be made when ordering.

Feeding back technology from Racing to you.
A vast amount of time and energy is spent in the TODA Racing Formula 3 team working to achieve the "WIN". Setting up of an F3 machine not only requires engine development but also chassis development, in particular the suspension.  An example of the performance required of a formula damper for circuit use has a piston speed of 0.05m/s and a stroke length of 5mm. (For example, an average road car's piston speed is 0.3m/s, stroke length of 100mm). Therefore the quality of each part is critical, not just in the design, or the accuracy in the manufacturing, but also in the selection of material, and the type of heat treatment used. A Formula car is very stiff car allowing comparative tests to be undertaken to show the performance of the suspension.  To help gain consistency, pillow-ball mounts are used to increase stiffness.  All this technology and racing experience are constantly being feed back to you through the FIGHTEX Damper series.

Same quality (Hand Made), whether it's for street, GT, or Formula.

We have gained a lot of experience in the racing field with the development and manufacturing of Formula chassis, race engines, and formula transmissions. One area that cannot be overlooked is in the design and manufacturing of racing suspension. With making full use of our race experience, and the latest technology, we have been able to deliver a commercially available suspension product of the highest quality. FIGHTEX Damper production started in 1992.  With careful thought placed on design, analysis, manufacturing, quality control of all the products within the FIGHTEX Damper series, a high precision and high quality product is assured. We are proud to release the FIGHTEX Damper series with the same high quality whether it's for the street, GT or Formula.

Seven different types of damper kits, designed for All Tastes. 18-Way Damper Adjustment.

FIGHTEX Damper Structure

1: [Damping Adjuster] Separate Tank (ST) type & Expert (EX/EX-G) type allow you to adjust independently the bump & rebound. Fine Sports (FS) type and Dual Adjust (DA) type allows you to adjust the damping force of both the bump and rebound.
2: [Dust Cover] A rubber cover designed to protect the piston rod from road contaminates.
3: [Dust Seal] Outer seal is used to keep finer dirt particles out of the damper.
4: [Oil Seal] The inner seal with low friction and temperature properties. The polyurethane with low friction is employed.
5: [Rod Guide Bush] 4 fluoridation ethylene plastic coated guide. Reduces friction and abrasion.
6: [Piston Rod] The damper rod which has to constantly withstand high thrust loads. The Fightex damper rod is of a high precision chrome molly steel, heat treated and chrome plated (surface of roughness 0.3µ). This makes the rod very resistant to bending and wear, helping to give the damper a long service life.
7: [Adjustable Needle Valve] 18 steps adjustable needle used to set bump & rebound characteristics. Various combinations (30 types of needle) are used to give the best performance for the street, GT or Formula applications.
8: [Jet Bleed Holder] Each damper is jetted (over 30 types) for the most suitable characteristics whether it's for street, GT or Formula. Damping forces vary between 140% and 170%.
9: [Piston Valve] Piston valves varying in size from 35ø ~ 45ø over 30 types used to give the desired damping characteristics whether it's for the street, GT or Formula.
10: [Piston Ring] This component is the most important for consistent damping. It is required to give both an airtight seal and low friction. A seal in the shape of a W constructed from Teflon used in conjunction with a reverse tension ring, was designed to overcome the opposing demands required for consistent damping.
11: [Valve Shim Stack] Valve Shim Stack (varying thickness & sizes) can be varied to give the desired damping characteristics whether it's for the street, GT or Formula.
12: [Cylinder Body] A large diameter (ø46) body made of light weight high carbon steel with a wall thickness of 2mm, inside surface finished to a mirror finish. Designed to be used with ø60mm springs.
13: [Nitrogen Gas Charge Point] High pressure. DO NOT OPEN.
14: [High Pressure Nitrogen Chamber] The high pressure nitrogen chamber. A free sliding piston used as a partition inside the cylinder. The volume of the rod when moved is absorbed by changes in the volume of the gas. This helps to prevent cavitations in the oil in the main body.
15: [Piston Seal] Uses Teflon for low friction. The inclination and sticking of the free piston is prevented.
16: [Free Piston] The gas and oil chamber are partitioned. The gas is used to help the damper rod move more freely in the main body and preventing the oil from aerating.
17: [Separate Tank] The separate tank is made from the same material as the main body with a wall thickness of 1.5mm.
18: [Valve Shim Stack] Found only on Separate Tank (ST/EX/EX-G) types, used to tune bump damping characteristics.
19: [Base Valve Unit] one-way valve, for adjusting bump characteristics.
20: [Damping Adjuster (Bump)] 18 steps adjustable needle used to set bump characteristics. Various combinations are used to give the best performance for street, GT or Formula applications.
21: [Adjuster Cap] A cap to protect from contaminates (Remove to adjust).
22: [Separate Tank Connection] Oil passage connecting the Separate Tank to the main body.
23: [Dual Adjusting Bottom Bracket] As well as being able to adjust the ride height with the lower spring seat, on (DA/DA-G/EX/EX-G) types, the bottom bracket can be also used to fine tune the vehicles ride height. This can also prove useful if pre-loading of the spring or a desired stroke length is required.

 FIGHTEX Damper Setting

The above graphs show various settings using an identical damper. The different damping characteristics are a product of varying the combinations of the parts shown below. FIGHTEX dampers are subjected to simulation tests, track, and gymkhana tests, along with long-term road testing. A special point is made in our street use Type-FS damper series, were a wide range of adjustability in both bump and rebound are included to give the user a wide range of options for different situations.  Final tuning of the suspension kit is carried out in conjunction with a racing driver, and our damper test driver, where demands for improved performance are balanced with requirements for street use.
