In 1970, a young engineer named Yukio Toda competed in the Suzuka 12-hour endurance race, and won the GT1 class.  The following year, he established the TODA Racing company in Okayama, Japan, as a tuning and maintenance company for racing engines and chassis.

1971  Yukio Toda established the TODA Racing company in Okayama, Japan. 

1971 Started by race tuning engines such as the Honda N, Honda Z and Honda S1300 (all air cooled). Designed a chassis for the local FL500 championship, and used a TODA Racing tuned Honda N360 as the power unit.

1977  Using a Mugen MF318 engine and a March chassis, development work and testing begins with plans to participate in the Suzuka based FJ1300 series.

1978  Employing a local driver, Kengo Nakamoto, we race and win the Suzuka FJ1300 championship.  The FJ1300 championship series is discontinued at the end of the year.  A decision is then made to move up to the Japanese Formula 3 championship.

1979  Maintenance of the Formula 3 Nova Toyota 2TG engine begins.  Based on lessons learned maintaining this engine, TODA begins development of a TODA Racing Toyota 2TG engine for Formula 3.  

1980  A Formula 3 chassis is built to aid development of the TODA Racing 2TG Formula 3 engine.

1981  Supplied the TODA Formula 3 engine to the British F3 championship mid season. TODA Racing's engine takes 2nd in the championship, even though it joined half season and missed half of the races.

1982  Maintenance work beings on the BMW M12 4-cyl engine for Formula 2 
1984  TODA begins work on developing the Toyota 3SG into a potential race winning Formula 3 engine, to replace the ageing 2TG F3 power unit.
1985  Toyota announces the introduction of it's own Formula 3 3SG engine.
1987  TODA Formula 3 3SG engine takes the Japan F3 title. (Driver: Ross Cheever).  With this victory, development and maintenance of the TODA 3SG F3 engine is stopped.
1988  Development and maintenance work begins on Mugen MF-204 F3 engine. SUPER HAKKA F3 Racing team is formed. (Driver: Kouji Sato)

1989  CHERENA Racing team (F3000) is formed. (Driver: Osamu Nakago)
Maintenance of the Mugen MF-308 engine for Formula 3000 begins. 
Shinji Nakano (F1 Driver) is entered in Formula 3 series by TODA Racing.
1990  SUPER HAKKA F3 driver Kazuaki Takamura.

1991  SUPER HAKKA team takes 3rd place in Fuji International race. (Driver: Kazuaki Takamura, the best placed Japanese driver ever in the international event.)  From 1988 to 1991, SUPER HAKKA racing team consecutively wins F1 support race.  SUPER HAKKA Racing closes its doors.
1992  Fightex Damper department opens.  Product manufacturing department enlarged.  Design and development of a Formula 4 and RS gearbox.
1994  Design and development of a TODA Formula 4 engine based on the Honda B18C begins.
1995  TODA Formula 4 engine is released..  TODA Racing together with ASSO MOTOR SPORTS collaborate to organize a F3 team. (Driver: Juichi Wakisaka)

1996  TODA Racing together with ASSO MOTOR SPORTS. (Driver: Shigekazu Wakisaka)

1997  LIAN TODA Racing team
